Tackling Loneliness and Supporting You When You Need Us
ABOUT US
Making Friends since 2022
We are Eleos Befriending, a privately run befriending service based in Edinburgh and the Lothians - here for you to do our bit to make the community a less lonely place.
Founded in 2022 by two Mental Health Nurses. We truly care about our patients well-being and guarantee a top of the line service and catered to your needs.

Our befriending service provides people with a new direction in life, opens up a range of activities and leads to increased self-esteem and self confidence. Our service complements other forms of care and can reduce the burden on other services which people may use as they seek social contact.

While some befriending services are volunteer only organisations, we are a privately run befriending service. As we are a privately run befriending service we are able to not put any time limits of how long you have a befriender for. This is different to many voluntary organisations who often have a time limit on the service provided. Also being a private service allows us to pay our befrienders above the living wage.

Where the Passion Begins
SASHA MITCHINSON
Co-Founder / Befriender
I am currently a Registered Mental Health Nurse and have worked in the mental health wards within Scotland and England for over 11 years. I started my journey after receiving my BSc Psychology from the University of Liverpool in 2011.

The reason myself and Lynn have set up Eleos is because we are passionate about improving mental health and tackling loneliness. Through working in the mental health sector for such a long time it has been evident that there is not enough community support services and loneliness can have a huge impact on people’s mental and physical health.
During my time I have worked with a variety of individuals over the years and can easily adapt to your needs. I want to work with you to meet your goals and help alleviate social isolation!
